Dental Faculty Study Day - Appraisal Training (OX180413)

AvailabilityCourse has taken place
SubjectPractice Management
DescriptionThis study day will equip delegates to consider how GDP appraisal might evolve in your area/organisation.
Additional informationI was a General Medical Practitioner from 1981 to 2012 and involved in GP education since the 80s.
In 2002 I was invited to initiate and develop GMP appraisal in my Primary Care Trust. From the outset I was keen that appraisal should be a meaningful and valued experience for busy practitioners, and in 2009 published a paper on the positive impact.

In 2011 Eileen Gorrod was asked to work with the Dental Team within Hampshire PCT to run a pilot for appraisal for General Dental Practitioners. With emphasis on the formative developmental value of appraisal this too has had a positive response from GDPs.
Revalidation has begun for GMPs and is around the corner for GDPs and she is still passionate that the time and effort involved should be affirmative for practitioners and deliver good care for our patients.

This day is for Training Programme Directors and Dental Tutors employed by Oxford and Wessex Deaneries.
