DescriptionThis is an innovative, intensive six month programme designed to equip clinical members of Local Dental Professional Networks (LPN) with the basic knowledge and skills to effectively contribute to the commissioning, delivery, monitoring and improvement of dental services, oral health and patient outcomes across primary and secondary care.

Barry Michael Cockcroft CBE is the Chief Dental Officer (CDO) for England. He qualified from the Dental School at the University of Birmingham in 1973. He was a dentist working in Rugby in general practice for 27 years during which time he represented dentists locally on the Warwickshire Local Dental Committee (LDC), and nationally, after he was elected to the General Dental Services Committee (GDSC) in 1990 He was appointed Deputy CDO in November 2002, and he became the acting CDO on 1 October 2005, before he took up the CDO post in July 2006. He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 New Year Honours.

Dr. Janine Brooks MBE, DMed Eth, MSc, FFGDPUK, MCDH, DDPHRCS, FAcadMed, BDS GDC: 58327 Janine is an experienced educator and facilitator. She spent 19 years as a salaried practitioner treating special needs patients. She has a special interest in medical ethics and completed her doctorate in 2011. She is a fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators and a fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management. She owns Dentalia coaching and training consultancy and is CEO of the Dental Coaching Academy. She works with dentists in difficulty and is passionate about the development of leadership skills for dental professionals.

Mr Stephen Jones started life in the NHS as a Health Promotion Officer, before moving into commissioning in 1992. He worked in primary care and commissioning in South East and North West London and from 2005-2012 had PCT Chief Executive roles in the West Midlands. In recent years he has formed part of the NHS Employers pharmacy contract team.
