DescriptionThis course will update the dental team about Equality and Diversity requirements within our society and workplace. The law relating to Equalities changed significantly in October 2010 and Public Sector Workers must know their legal obligations. In addition, significant quality and service improvements can be gained from knowledge in this area.
Additional informationThe following topics will be covered:
• The law and regulations – own and practice responsibilities
• Impact of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion and belief on care provision
• Situations where legislation applies
• Discrimination and harassment
• Promotion of equality.

This course is intended for the whole dental team.

  2. To define the terms Equality and Diversity and describe a range of situations to which this legislation applies.
  3. To define the terms discrimination and harassment with relevant examples and be able to recognise and effectively challenge harassment and bullying in the workplace
  4. To discover how recognition of workplace equality and diversity can inform high quality service improvements
