DescriptionManaging children who find it hard to cooperate in the dental surgery is a challenge dentists regularly face. This course provides an update on behaviour management techniques using guidance from the BSPD.

Danielle Grady BDS is a paediatric Senior Dental officer within the community dental service. Danielle qualified in 2004 and worked in NHS and private general dental practice, and the CDS, before moving to the CDS full time in 2014.

*This webinar is suitable for entire dental team, will be delivered via MS Teams and an email with joining instructions and a short a guide to remote learning will be sent to you at least 24 hours before the course starts. Please log in early to check your IT supports MS Teams and check that your microphone is off but your camera is on (you can upload a background of your choice for privacy) signing in using your Deanery registered name helps us to confirm your attendance. Logging onto to Webinar will be from 13:05. Aims

The aim of the course is to update Dental Care Professionals on non-pharmacological behaviour management in children, using guidance from the BSPD.
 GDC Outcome C.

Objectives

1. To explain how children's behaviour can be classified.

2. To describe the factors affecting children's anxiety.

3. To provide information on non-pharmacological management techniques and how they can be used in general dental practice.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course learners should be able to:

1. Classify children's behaviour

2. Understand the factors affecting children's anxiety

3. Identify appropriate non-pharmacological behaviour management techniques to use on their paediatric patients.
