DescriptionThis course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry, essential for dentists who are undertaking vocational training by assessment.
Additional informationThe course is also suitable for Dentists who are new to the NHS or are returning to NHS dental practice.
A day lecture / "hands-on" course for Dentists, providing an update on endodontic treatment. It includes “hands on” training in root canal preparation and obturation. The "hands-on" sessions alternate with demonstrations, advice and guidance from Dr. Nigel Foot, registered Endodontic Specialist. Dr. Foot will also enquire of any concerns delegates have with respect to endodontic best practice, and will attempt to address those in the course of the day.

The course fees cover the costs of both rotary and hand files used during the day, along with all other accessories, cutting blocks, use of endo motors and obturation materials. It also includes coffees and lunch.

This course will assist delegates to provide supporting evidence for CQC outcomes 6AB, 13 and 14.
This course covers:
•Current techniques for Root Canal Preparation
•Materials used in Endodontic Treatment
•Hands on training in the use of both rotary and hand files.
•Hands on training in root canal obturation

Speaker:
Dr. Nigel Foot BDS., MSc., MRDRCS (Eng) Nigel Foot has been a Specialist Endodontist at the Briars Dental Centre since 1995. He was one of the first Endodontists in the UK to be admitted to the Endodontic Specialist Register in 1999. Find out more about endodontics Newbury by reading our endodontic case studies.He gained his MSc in Endodontics in 1994 from Guys and the Eastman Dental Schools having qualified as a dentist from Newcastle University in 1979. In 1996, he gained the membership in Restorative Dentistry (Endodontics), at the Royal College of Surgeons, London and Glasgow.Nigel, endodontist Newbury, has a keen interest in endodontic education and has taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He held a part-time teaching post at Guys and St. Thomas’s Dental School from 1994 – 2001. He is currently a part-time teacher at the Eastman Continuing Professional Development Centre in London and for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He lectures on endodontics to general practitioner groups within the UK and has lectured to endodontists abroad in Italy, the Irish Republic and Sweden. Special work interests include all aspects of endodontic therapy and physiology of the dental pulp.On a personal level Nigel Foot lives in Maidenhead with his wife, four children and their Boxer dog.
