Additional informationOur speaker will explore the current legal and ethical issues facing the dental team and will consider appropriate responses to situations with probable legal or ethical repercussions.

Topics covered will include:

• Standards for dental professionals
• Confidentiality
• Consent
• Data protection
• Clinical governance.

Attending the course will also help the dental team to achieve compliance against all CQC outcomes; in particular CQC Outcome 1: Respecting and involving people who use services, CQC Outcome 2: Consent to care and treatment, CQC Outcome 4: Care and welfare of people who use services, CQC Outcome 8: Cleanliness and infection control, CQC Outcome 10: Safety and suitability of premises, CQC Outcome 11: Safety, availability and suitability of equipment, CQC Outcome 17: Complaints and CQC Outcome 21: Records.

This course is intended for the entire practice team: Dentists, Therapists, Hygienists, Nurses, Practice Managers, Receptionists, Business Managers, Clinical Dental Technicians, Dental Technicians.

Jo Russell has over 24 years of experience in the dental profession and has acquired considerable expertise in all areas of the business of dentistry. She spent 7 formative years in the Dental Branch of the Royal Navy, was appointed to Area Practice Manager for a dental corporate and then started her own consultancy and training business in Portsmouth. Jo holds a Certificate in Education and the NEBOSH National Certificate in Health and Safety. She is a popular and enthusiastic teacher of practice management, health and safety at work, radiation protection, clinical governance, human resources, marketing and advertising, reflective practice and customer service.
