DescriptionA two hour course for DCPs describing the causes of infections, and discussing how their transmission in the dental surgery can be prevented.
Additional informationThe GDC requirement for DCPs is 5 hours verifiable CPD in this subject in each 5 year cycle. This is an update course, designed to contribute towards the GDC requirement.

Please note: This course is for DCPs. It is not for Dentists.

This course will provide supporting evidence for CQC outcomes: 1, 4, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14. It may also contribute to other CQC outcomes.
This course is suitable for Dental Nurses.

  2. To discuss how infections can be transmitted by a dental surgery.
  3. To describe how the latest guidelines attempt to prevent transmission of infection (including single use items/ zoning).
  4. To discuss HTM 01-05 and the latest cross infection/decontamination guidelines.
