DescriptionPractice managers are taking on more and more responsibilities in the running of the dental practice. This event will help practice managers and/or practice owners to find out more about the impact of regulatory changes and will offer support and training specific to their roles.
Additional informationMr Tim Inkson, Compliance Inspector CQC South Region, will be available to answer questions in the morning; Leanne Covey, the DCP Tutor and Practice Facilitator for Portsmouth, will chair a forum in the afternoon with the objective of creating and fostering a network for the exchange and circulation of ideas within the local dental community.

The following topics will be covered:
• Implications of the CQC and practice inspections
• Keeping up with regulatory changes
• Motivating staff
• Making the best use of practice meetings
• Marketing issues
• Patient recruitment and retention.

In addition, CPD offered by Oxford and Wessex Deaneries provides best value-for-money training; the only cost is for refreshments and, attending courses will also provide evidence to help practices achieve compliance against many CQC outcomes.

This course is intended for Practice Owners, Practice Managers and Business Managers.

Leanne Covey RDN Cert Ed BA (Hons) MIfL LCGI, has worked in the NHS for the past 18 years. She was appointed DCP Tutor and Practice Facilitator for Portsmouth 7 years ago. Leanne gained an Honours degree in Education and Training in July 2008 from the University of Portsmouth and has since mentored dental nurse tutors across the region in successful pursuit of their Cert Ed. She is currently supporting dental professionals and practises across Hampshire with their CPD and the business of dentistry, including PDP, CQC and Information Governance.
