DescriptionThis will be an excellent one-day update course which meets the requirements of the GDC recommended subject of radiography and radiation protection. This is a lecture with an emphasis on clinical content.  Under IR(ME)R 2000, any member of a dental team who takes part in the radiographic process is regarded as an IR(ME)R operator, and continuation training is required. The minimum requirement for verifiable CPD in radiology and radiation protection of 5 hours every 5 years will be achieved by attending this course. certificates confirming compliance with regulations will be issued.
Additional informationPlease note this course is only suitable for dental team members who are qualified to take radiographs - dentists, dental therapists, dental hygienists and suitably qualified dental nurses. However an update course in dental radiography for dental nurses who are not qualified to take radiographs themselves will be running alongside this course at the same centre on the same day. Applications for this course should be made in the usual way.

  3. Review of current UK legislation and essential areas of compliance for the dental team. Recap on training requirements. Understanding of the essential elements and application of Quality Assurance procedures.  
  4. Understanding of diagnostic radiology and specialised radiographic techniques. Update on digital radiography.
