DescriptionNHS Dental Practices have to complete the NHS "Connecting Health" Information Governance Toolkit by 31 March 2012.
Additional informationThe CQC will use submissions to judge whether Practices are providing acceptable Information Governance outcomes. Private practices may also use the toolkit for this purpose (for a fee!) but have to demonstrate Information Governance training is provided and CQC outcomes achieved.


This course will:
Show practices how to register on the toolkit (if they haven't already)
Describe the policies and procedures which must be in place for compliance
Demonstrate how to navigate through the Connecting for Health Information Governance website
Discuss why good information governance practice is important.

* This course may provide supporting evidence for CQC outcomes 2, 3, 4, 6, 12, 13, 14, 16, and 17 but focuses on outcome 21 (Records).



Jo Russell has over 24 years of experience in the dental profession and has acquired considerable expertise in all areas of the business of dentistry. She spent 7 formative years in the Dental Branch of the Royal Navy, was appointed to Area Practice Manager for a dental corporate and then started her own consultancy and training business in Portsmouth. Jo holds a Certificate in Education and the NEBOSH National Certificate in Health and Safety. She is a popular and enthusiastic teacher of practice management, health and safety at work, radiation protection, clinical governance, human resources, marketing and advertising, reflective practice and customer service.
