DescriptionThe Care Quality Commission change from standards to regulations based on outcomes has resulted in a shift away from policies, systems and processes towards a quality experience for staff and users of healthcare services. Organisations are now measured and assessed on what people say and their actual experience, rather than what systems they put in place. In addition, there is a clear focus on outcomes, based on patient experience, and the regulations now require providers to ensure that care and treatment is provided to service users with due regard to their age, gender, religious persuasion, sexual orientation, racial origin, cultural and linguistic background and/or disability.
