DescriptionTraditionally, the working relationship between dentist and dental technician has depended on communication by written prescription with little face-to-face dialogue. Unsurprisingly, this sometimes unreliable means of communication has resulted in a variable quality of service.
Additional informationThis evening course is designed for dentists and dental technicians wishing to develop their own skills and foster an improved level of communication and understanding between members of the dental team.

Our speaker will highlight the knowledge and skills required to plan and treat patients requiring conventional and implant supported dentures and will help delegates to:

• Understand the various stages involved in the provision of dentures using traditional methods and materials
• Appreciate the laboratory aspects of conventional and implant supported dentures
• Better understand the work of each other to engender a higher standard of oral health care
• Communicate effectively with each other
• Write the perfect prescription
• Consider the use of visible light-cured denture resin to make dentures
• Consider the flexible, removable partial denture
• Identify and manage risks.

Attending this course will provide evidence to demonstrate compliance with some of the requirements of CQC outcome 1: respecting and involving people who use services, CQC outcome 4: care and welfare of people who use services, CQC outcome 6: co-operating with other providers, CQC outcome 8: cleanliness and infection control, CQC outcome 11: safety, availability and suitability of equipment, CQC outcome 12: requirements relating to workers, CQC outcome 13: staffing, CQC outcome 14: supporting workers and CQC outcome 21: records.
