DescriptionThis course explores the holistic dental management of elderly patients, particularly those who are homebound, frail or have chronic age-related diseases. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore issues such as communicating with people who have disabilities or sensory impairments, solving problems of access to the surgery, delivering effective domiciliary care, and training caregivers in providing oral health care for functionally dependent older people. This course is relevent to the entire dental team particularly those clinicians/practitioners who are working towards the special care diploma or any general dental practitioner who is involved with caring for elderly patients.
