| Description | This essential course is ideally intended for general dental practitioners and their hygienist/therapist. The format of the day will be part lecture/hands-on and will empower the dental team to provide cost-effective, aesthetic and minimally invasive dental treatment to their patients through the application of widely available devices and techniques. It has been shown that teeth with healthy but severely reduced periodontium can be maintained on a long term basis with the aid of splints. The lecture is practical, packed with interesting slides and clinical cases and the day will cover the following topics: |
| Additional information | • The primary and secondary factors influencing deep isolated pockets • The role of antibiotics, surgery and periodontal splinting in achieving a successful periodontal outcome • When to extract and if an implant is a safe option. The practical session will take place in the phantom-head room in the afternoon and delegates will be able to construct a periodontal splint. This course is ideally intended for general dental practitioners and their hygienist/therapist but, individual practitioners will also be most welcome and will buddy-up for the hands-on session in the afternoon. |
