DescriptionThis course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry, essential for dentists who are undertaking vocational training by assessment.
Additional informationThe course is also suitable for dentists who are new to the NHS, dentists who are returning to NHS dental practice.or dentists otherwise participating in the Southampton “Introduction to the NHS” series of Postgraduate meetings.


The introduction of “HTM 0105 Decontamination in Primary care dental practices” has presented fresh challenges for all dental practices. This course will assist all dentists to re-assess their infection control, disinfection and decontamination procedures, and to move their practices towards “best practice”. It will demonstrate how practice teams can work together to satisfy HTM 01 05, and Clinical Governance requirements. The course concludes with an examination of correct prescribing practice.

This course covers one of the GDC CORE CPD subjects, and also links to CQC outcomes 8, 9AB,13 and14
