| Description | This course is one of a number of courses designed to provide an introduction to NHS dentistry, essential for dentists who are undertaking vocational training by assessment. |
| Additional information | The course is also suitable for dentists who are new to the NHS, dentists who are returning to NHS dental practice.or dentists otherwise participating in the Southampton “Introduction to the NHS” series of Postgraduate meetings. A one day course combining theoretical and practical aspects of dental radiography. The course will cover all aspect of dental radiography relevant to the taking of dental radiographs. The information discussed in the lecture room will then be demonstrated in the surgery environment, using the facilities of the Royal South Hants Hospital Dental Department. This will cover both the theoretical aspects of what happens when an x-ray exposure occurs and the relevant records and communications required to maintain good governance, and comply with legal requirements.Delegates will have the opportunity to use a range of film holder and beam aiming devices, and there will be opportunities to discuss the relative merits of the devices with the course organisers. The process of deriving an accurate clinical diagnosis from radiograph analysis will also be addressed. |
