DescriptionA short presentation on the Five Ways to Wellbeing and an opportunity to find out how these researched tools can be embedded into your daily lives to support your mental health and help to reduce stress.

Kathryn Pickup is one of the Workplace Wellbeing Trainers at Oxfordshire Mind. She is passionate about workplace wellbeing and has undertaken research in this area. Kathryn is also a mental health first aider.

Please read the attached HEE learning protocol. The link will be sent by email on the day to those booked on the course. The lecture will start promptly at 13:15, please log in early and check that your microphone is off, but your camera is on (you can upload a background of your choice for privacy). Please set your user name to that of your HEE MaxCourse account or it may not be possible to confirm your attendance. If you are unable to use your camera, please respond to a random chat message from the tutor which will be used to verify your attendance. Because this is a very short course it will not be possible to take questions during the session.

Aims

To understand how the tools from the Five Ways to Wellbeing can help us to be proactive in decreasing stress and build good mental health at home and at work.

Objectives

The aim of the session is to understand the concept of the 'Five Ways to Wellbeing' by exploring:

  • The effect of stress on mental health
  • What wellbeing is and why it matters
  • How the Five Ways to Wellbeing can help us and others
  • How to develop an action plan to do something new or different
Learning outcomes

As a result of taking part the learner will be able to:

  • Understand the effect of stress on mental health and why wellbeing matters
  • Use the 'Five Ways to wellbeing to help themselves and others
