DescriptionThis is a two hour Webinar which will provide a general update on and discuss the COVID-19 aspects to management of medical emergencies. This webinar will be delivered on the Zoom platform : An email will be sent to you on the morning of the 22nd April, which will have the joining instructions. Please ensure that your IT supports zoom. Please sign in using your Deanery registered name, which helps us to confirm attendance. Find attached a document to be read on webinar etiquette. Also there will be a chance to gain an extra FREE one hour CPD. Attached to this course is a package set up by Phil Jevon to test your learning. Please read and then fill in the answers to the questions and send this back to Phil. He will mark these and then send out an additional CPD certificate.

To understand the management of medical emergencies in the dental practice

Objectives
  • To describe the ABCDE approach to assess and treat the acutely ill patient
  • Discuss the management of common medical emergencies
  • List the 7 emergency drugs that should be available in the dental practice to treat medical emergencies
  • Outline the procedure for resuscitation, including defibrillation
