| Description | This one-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the causes of endodontic disease and its treatment. It will provide hands-on training in some of the materials, techniques and equipment available to the general dental practitioner today. This will enable you to undertake root canal therapy on permanent teeth with confidence. |
| Additional information | The day will include the following: • Microbiological aetiology of root canal infection • Access and anatomy of the root canal • Chemical cleaning of the whole root canal system • Preparation from the crown to the apex – Crown Down • Balanced Forced Technique • Working length determination • Using variable taper NiTi hand and rotary instruments • System B obturation ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING A MINIMUM OF THREE MOLARS ACCESSED READY FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT. WHEN THE ROOT CANALS ARE LOCATED THEY MUST ONLY BE INSTRUMENTED WITH A NUMBER 10 HAND FILE. NO FURTHER PREPARATION OF THE ROOT CANAL SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT. THE TEETH NEED TO BE STORED WET/DAMP IN ANTISEPTIC AND MUST NOT BE MOUNTED. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ALSO BRING MAGNIFYING LOUPES IF USED IN PRACTICE. This course is intended for General Dental Practitioners. |
