DescriptionThis one-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the causes of endodontic disease and its treatment. It will provide hands-on training in some of the materials, techniques and equipment available to the general dental practitioner today. This will enable you to undertake root canal therapy on permanent teeth with confidence.
Additional informationThe day will include the following:
• Microbiological aetiology of root canal infection
• Access and anatomy of the root canal
• Chemical cleaning of the whole root canal system
• Preparation from the crown to the apex – Crown Down
• Balanced Forced Technique
• Working length determination
• Using variable taper NiTi hand and rotary instruments
• System B obturation

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING A MINIMUM OF THREE MOLARS ACCESSED READY FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT. WHEN THE ROOT CANALS ARE LOCATED THEY MUST ONLY BE INSTRUMENTED WITH A NUMBER 10 HAND FILE. NO FURTHER PREPARATION OF THE ROOT CANAL SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT. THE TEETH NEED TO BE STORED WET/DAMP IN ANTISEPTIC AND MUST NOT BE MOUNTED.
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ALSO BRING MAGNIFYING LOUPES IF USED IN PRACTICE.
