•Communicate effectively with relatives in a manner which respects the patient’s dignity, confidentiality and self image.
- •Address challenging communication situations including the effective management of anger, confusion or misunderstanding of patients.
- •Can identify patients (or carers) with special communication needs and is able to make arrangements to meet these requirements effectively.
•Listens effectively and is responsive to non-verbal cues.
- •Select and compose a suitable style of written communication that is appropriate for the patient and / or guardian in different clinical scenarios.
