Aims
  • Discuss methods of identifying and investigation different forms of domestic abuse.
  • Summarise local safeguarding techniques, policies and pathways for referral, including legal responsibilities.
  • Share information on the impact of domestic abuse on the victim using lived-experience.
Learning outcomes

Following the course you will be able to:

  • Detect physical, psychological and behavioural aspects of domestic abuse and understand how the varied presentation across different groups.
  • Feel confident in screening for domestic abuse within their colleague and patient groups, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
  • Have knowledge on how to contact local safeguarding policies and referral pathways to act appropriately.
