Description | Racism within healthcare has a widespread impact on NHS staff, culture, and service users. 76% of respondents experienced racism in their workplace on at least one occasion in the last two years. 71% of respondents who personally experienced racism chose not to report this to anyone. (British Medical Association 2022). Healthcare professionals discriminated against 65% of black people surveyed because of their ethnicity (National Health Executive 2022). This engaging and interactive course creates a safe space for delegates to feel confident talking about race. We will dive into the realities of race and racism within the medical field, supported by real-life examples and data. This course will provide skills, confidence, and practical tools to be actively anti-racist from an informed perspective. |
