SubjectCPD
DescriptionThe QI project is on your PDP and in your job plan. Nobody hands you the method for getting one defined, tested and finished. A hands on day of learning by doing. The Model for Improvement worked through real case studies from acute and primary care, with patient safety, human factors and the behaviour change that makes an improvement hold.
Additional information
  • Apply the Model for Improvement to a case, from defining the problem and setting measures to testing change with PDSA cycles.
  • Recognise what stalls improvement work in acute and primary care settings, and the moves that get a stalled project going again.
  • Understand how patient safety, human factors and quality improvement fit together, and why work on one depends on the other two.
  • Use behaviour change techniques so a change holds after the enthusiasm has faded and the person who drove it has rotated.
  • Lead a project of your own to a measurable result, with data that shows whether the change was an improvement.
