DescriptionFor anyone interested in strengthening the future of the South West Anaesthesia team
Additional information

There is an urgent need in the UK to address the current and predicted future workforce shortage of Anaesthetists. One solution growing in popularity is the expansion of the Anaesthesia Associate profession — highly trained and skilled practitioners that add continuity and flexibility to an anaesthesia department, working in multi-disciplinary teams led by Consultant Anaesthetists.

This HEE South West networking event is designed to offer an interactive showcase to explore the role and development of Anaesthesia Associates, by providing you with the latest information about Anaesthesia Associates, including practical advice about business planning, workforce integration, implementation challenges and future trends.

We will have a range of speakers; well-established Anaesthesia Associates and their Anaesthetist colleagues, with key leaders from the RCOA, universities and HEE. There will be Q&A sessions throughout the day, as well as opportunities to network with the invited speakers and your fellow participants.

If you want to understand what an Anaesthesia Associate is, how they might contribute to Anaesthesia services, and how to set about introducing this role into your hospital, this is the meeting for you.
