Section 1: Supporting Diverse Learners

In this section, participants will focus on:

Reflect on the lived experiences of diverse medical professionals to understand the difficulties they face.

Understanding the unique challenges and opportunities faced by diverse learners, including IMGs, LEDs, and other individuals with specific needs

Providing structured induction and effective supervision to ensure smooth transitions and career development for these learners.

Optimising training opportunities and support mechanisms tailored to the diverse needs of these individuals.

Developing actionable strategies to enhance overall support and mentorship, improving the training experience for all.

 

Section 2: Promoting Inclusivity and Psychological Safety

In this section, participants will focus on:

Defining neurodiversity and its relevance within the broader context of diverse learners.

Recognising and addressing biases and stereotypes that may affect learners from various backgrounds.

Identifying and managing triggers that impact learners, and implementing reasonable adjustments to accommodate diverse needs.

Signposting coaching services, techniques for self-care, calming methods, and time management tailored to diverse learners.

Understanding legal and ethical obligations related to supporting diverse learners and implementing effective adjustments.

Creating and maintaining psychologically safe spaces that foster trust and inclusivity for all individuals, regardless of their background.
