Leadership Skills for Core Trainees (CT2) – The Next Steps (SW209)

AvailabilityCourse has taken place
SubjectCPD - Doctors in Training
DescriptionAs a CT you may not realise that you are already a leader in the eyes of many healthcare staff, patients and their families. So, the main objective of this course is to provide you with some simple, effective and practical generic teamwork, management and leadership skills that you can immediately start thinking about and using in complex situations at work, and for that matter in your personal life. These are simple enough to bring to mind in stressful situations so you can respond more constructively and more effectively in a wide range of situations. Skills include understanding your own preferred working styles and that of your colleagues, improving communication skills for example speaking up when might need to raise difficult issues, and developing better negotiation and influencing skills. It won’t solve all your problems, but it might lower your blood pressure by giving you insights into what is happening around you and lead to better ways of managing day to day issues at work.
