Short resume of career to date:

I qualified at Bristol University Dental Hospital in 2006 and also received the ‘Prize for Professionalism’ from the GDC in that year. I went on to work at Bristol Dental Hospital as staff hygienist for the treatment of patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy, before joining the team as a tutor in the dental hygiene department. I have experience of working in several dental practices around Bristol including four years in a specialist periodontal clinic.

Experience relevant to the topic:

I developed a keen interest in bacterial biofilm after attending a lecture shortly after graduating. Over the years I have gathered as much information on the topic as I can, and am acknowledged as such in the ‘The Basic Guide to Oral Health Education and Promotion’ by Alison Chapman and Paul Felton. I currently teach the plaque and biofilm module to our students at Bristol Dental Hospital
