To deliver the latest information on how biofilms play a vital part in periodontal disease and practical sessions on how to  improve our delivery of oral health advice and non surgical periodontal treatment in general dental practice.

Objectives

By the end of the session the participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the role of biofilm disruption in periodontal treatment
  2. Identify the latest oral hygiene aids available & develop motivational oral hygiene skills with patients.
  3. Identify different types and effectiveness of chemical plaque control agents currently available.
  4. Confidently use subgingival hand instruments and update knowledge of ultrasonic scalers currently available.
