SubjectPeriodontology
DescriptionPlease join us for the first of two linked webinars (the second will be on 28th May), for an opportunity to refresh your periodontal skills from the comfort of your living room. Dr Samy Darwish (Specialist in periodontology and oral surgery) will be discussing the aetiology, assessment, and diagnosis of periodontal disease. Amongst other things, we will consider screening, management and crucially the medicolegal consequences of periodontal management. All members of the dental team are very welcome to attend. Dr Darwish understands the challenges faced by those of us working within the NHS contract and will be addressing how we can utilise the skills of the whole team to better manage patients with chronic periodontal conditions in practice. This course is suitable for colleagues with ‘Agreement Terms’ who are working toward gaining their Performer Number.
Additional information

Samy Darwish is a GDC registered Specialist in both Periodontology and Oral Surgery, practicing both in UK and abroad.

During this two-part series, he takes an alternative approach to evaluating the aetiology of periodontal disease by discussing basic concepts of immunology and microbiology to provide his audience with philosophies and analogies that will immediately help dental professionals understand why periodontal disease occurs and how best it can be managed. He then goes on to explore some medico-legal aspects of the periodontal-restorative interface to help clinicians appreciate the vital importance of periodontics when treatment planning in dentistry.

Delegates are expected to attend both sessions
