Aims

Morning - To provide DCPs, the knowledge to allow them to safely be involved in the process of taking and developing radiographs and update them with the regulations relating to Ionising Radiation

Afternoon - To raise awareness of Dementia.

Objectives

By the end of the session delegates will be able to -

Understand the use of selection criteria in relation to dental radiography

Identify the risks associated with dental radiography

Understand the principles of a Quality Assurance programme

Understand how it feels to be a person living with dementia

Understand how a patient living with dementia may find the dental environment challenging

Learning outcomes

DCP's will understand how to work safely within their scope of practice when assisting with the processes involved in dental radiography

DCP's understand how best to help a patient living with dementia cope when visiting a dental practice
