Description: This course involves a full day of theory via didactic teaching and group discussions and imaging on the 1st day at York Hospital and day 2 practical experience on Thiel Cadavers at the anatomy department, University of Leeds. The faculty is highly experienced and varied with both general surgeons and plastic surgeons involved to provide expert surgical mentorship. We are lucky to have an anatomist to present the detailed anatomy of the surgical environment. The second day, takes place in the cadaveric labs in Leeds. We will have 6 Thiel cadavers available. Trainees will consist of general surgical trainees of different levels. Paediatric surgical trainees have also been invited. There will also be theatre assistants and we have invited several surgical care practitioners.
