Lecturer profilePete qualified in 1998 and has been a Hospital Consultant and Specialist Dentist for over 15 years. Having worked at the Leeds Dental Institute for 19 years, he moved to York Hospital in 2019.
Pete spends half the week at York Hospital and also works part-time in private practice at Kirkgate Dental in Tadcaster. He is very much a clinician and focuses on treating patients every working day.
To become a Consultant and Specialist, after his 5-year degree course, Pete worked for 4 years in a combination of general practice and hospital jobs and then trained for a further 5 years in hospital as a Registrar, focusing on specialist and complex dental treatment. Along the way, he completed a Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry and passed the necessary examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons to become a specialist.
Peter is a registered Specialist in restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontology and prosthodontics. He is very experienced in Dental implants, providing surgical and restorative treatment from simple to the most complex cases over the last 20 years. Peter is an examiner for dentists in implant dentistry for the Royal College of Surgeons.

David is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry and a General Dental Council registered Specialist in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry.

David spends his working week as an NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at The York Hospital and in specialist private practice. His time in the hospital is spent providing complex oral rehabilitation for patients with both congenital and acquired oral disease.

David is a published author of articles in both national and international journals on subjects including dental implants, restorative and endodontic techniques. As part of his specialist training David completed a Masters degree in Restorative Dentistry focusing on dental implants and was awarded a distinction. David is also an Honorary Lecturer at Leeds University and has lectured both locally and nationally to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as general dental practitioners.
