Aims

To provide an update on MIH aetiology and management options of the affected molar.

Objectives
  • Understanding and differentiate key definitions in relation to MIH
  • Appreciate the proposed aetiological reasons and problems associated with MIH
  • Explained the evidence behind the treatment options for the affected permanent molar
  • Discuss the NIHR-funded DECIDE study and some if its preliminary findings
Learning outcomes
  • Understand the evidence behind the aetiology of MIH and apply this to clinical discussions with children and their parents
  • Use the current evidence to make decisions on how to manage the affected permanent molar
