Aims

1) Understand the structure / funding / benefits of the genomic medicine service in England

2) Have an understanding on where genetic testing can be of benefit – Cancer / Pharmacy / Rare disease

3) Know where to access support and further education / training in genomics

4) Have an understanding of what technologies are used to run tests within the NGTD

Objectives

1) Be able to access and use the National Genomic Test Directory (NGTD)

2) Know how to access the Genomic Lab Hub website for the South West

3) Learn from cases examples about relevant recent updates in genomic testing

4) Be able to talk to a patient about a test that is run through whole genomic sequencing (WGS)

5) Understand benefits and some of the pitfalls associated with WGS
