DescriptionKyle Stewart is a part-time salaried GP in Paignton. He is also one of the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Fellows with a separate London-based NHS Innovation Scholarship through Mid Essex, Southend, Basildon & Thurrock Trust. He became a research fellow in theoretical medicine at Exeter University in 2019, developing a watercress-based extract rich with clinically useful enzyme inhibitors for a range of clinical scenarios, through funding he secured during his GP training at Torbay. He has successfully spun out a company from Exeter University to commercialise this research, and is developing a portfolio of products. He is a massive advocate for doctors to become involved in alternative clinical interests, and wants to highlight that there is more to medicine than the clinical work. His one-day workshop will include guidance for budding entrepreneurs and talks from clinicians (some quite famous!) who have developed their own products, businesses and services while balancing clinical work. It's one not to be missed if you are wondering what else the future holds outside of medicine!
