About the “Foundation Cases” teaching series: Delivering education to trainees has become more challenging during the COVID19 pandemic. Aims | Dr Emma Axon (EM) talks through a variety of different presentations in the ED/primary care setting – considering different causes for vertigo, the examination and investigations to consider and how to gain confidence with your diagnosis/differentials and treatment plan. This course aims to help you gain confidence assessing, investigating and managing vertigo within the ED/primary care or on the ward. | ||
Objectives | 1. How to differentiate peripheral and central causes of vertigo. 2. Confidence with the initial examination of a patient in the ED or primary care 3. When and what investigations to consider To consider and gain confidence with differentials of vertigo – trauma, drug, CV, respiratory, vestibular causes and stroke. | ||
