Aims

Review the theory and clinical skills required for impression taking thus expanding the skill set for dental nurses in the clinical setting.

Objectives
  • Review what types of impressions you are allowed to take
  • Identify the materials and systems required to take both analogue and digital impressions respectively.
  • Practice taking analogue impression using alginate
  • Demonstrate how to take digital impressions using a digital scanner and understanding the workflow/software
Learning outcomes

Delegates will:

  • Be able to recognise the scope of impression taking for dental nurses
  • Gain knowledge in both analogue and digital impression techniques
  • Develop clinical skills to take both analogue and digital impressions

 

Delegates will have the opportunity to evidence impression taking by completing a portfolio and achieve a certificate of completion.
