Aims

To provide an opportunity to apply knowledge and practice skills for implementing peer to peer mental health support within routine LDC contact.

Objectives
  • Discuss the factors that are indicators of ‘complexity’ and the role of structured peer to peer mental health support
  • Practice peer to peer mental health support skills and gain constructive feedback in a structured supported learning environment
  • Develop a shared action plan for the development of L&SC LDC peer to peer support
Learning outcomes

Following the webinar participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe indicators of ‘complexity’ and the need for structured mental health peer to peer support
  • Use a structured approach to respond and provide structured peer to peer mental health support within the context of the LDC
  • Identify as a group boundaries & responsibilities of peer to peer support within the LDC and continuing professional development needs in this area.
