Aims

To provide an update on the diagnosis & management of some oromucosal diseases & conditions & the need for tertiary referral, if appropriate.

Objectives
  1. Recogise the oral presentation of Immunobullous Disease at an early stage & understand the application of appropriate IF techniques for diagnosis. Be aware of systemic drugs for management of these diseases.
  2. Identify severe cases of RAS ,which require systemic medication & those ,which may have Behcet’s Disease.
  3. Identify cases of OLP that may require specialist management in tertiary care.
  4. Provide an update on topical medications currently available to treat oromucosal ulceration.
  5. Provide an update on OFG/Oral Crohn’s.
  6. Provide an update on BMS.

Following the session delegates should be aware of advances in Oral Medicine practice & recognise cases that require specialist management in tertiary care.
