DescriptionThis session recognises the place for rubber dam in every day dental practice and familiarises participants with quick and easy techniques for the placement of rubber dam.
Additional information

This practical 'hands-on' session will encompass the skills needed for placing Rubber dam. This course will also emphasise the role of the dental nurse in the quick delivery and placement of rubber dam. Dentists are eligible to invite their nurse free of charge for the session, both Dentists and Nurses will need to register and complete the transaction for this course.

Costs 

£75 NHS Dentist or Dental Therapist

£150 NON NHS Dentist or Dental Therapist

Dental Nurse's free of charge when attending with a dentist.

To encourage the use of rubber dam in every day practice through quick and easy application techniques.

Objectives
  • Revise the reasons for the everyday use of rubber dam
  • Recognise the place for rubber dam in every day dental practice and not reserved for specialist practice
  • Familiarise patient with quick and easy techniques for the placement of rubber dam
  • Emphasise the role of the dental nurse in the quick delivery and placement of rubber dam
Learning outcomes

Following the session participants will:

  • Be able to recognise the benefits of rubber dam
  • Have an ability to place rubber dam routinely with one or two methods in reserve for difficult cases
  • Recognise the importance of familiarising the nurse with the routine techniques used
