Enable a primary care dentist/doctor and a junior secondary care dentist/doctor to assess and appropriately manage patients presenting with maxillofacial trauma

Assessment of patient suspected of maxillofacial trauma

Referral pathway for patients with Maxillofacial Trauma

Learning outcomes

Primary and secondary care dentist/doctor is able to recognise a patient that may have maxillofacial injury from trauma

Primary care dentist/doctor is able to appropriately referral to secondary care a patient that may have maxillofacial injury from trauma

Secondary care dentist/doctor is able to work up and arrange for a patient to undergo treatment for Maxillofacial trauma

Awareness of complications following Maxillofacial Trauma

Hands-on workshop – Able to select the appropriate and place sutures into a wound. Place a bone fixation plate.
