Aims

To introduce contemporary endodontic techniques (including access, instrumentation and irrigation) and understand biology of endodontic disease and the importance of basic biological principles in its treatment

Objectives

To become:

  • Fully aware of the technique of balanced force filing, its’ use in developing a “glide path” in curved canal
  • preparation, and its’ importance with rotary instrumentation. Familiar with current root canal irrigants and irrigation techniques.
  • Familiar with techniques available for accurate and predictable determination of working lengths
  • Able to try out a few contemporary endodontic file systems (Hands-on)
  • Able to evaluate cases and decide on appropriate treatment regimes, and when to refer
