Aims

To provide a structured reflective space for dental nurses to critically evaluate their experiences of DR-BNI training, explore challenges and successes in applying behaviour change techniques, and identify strategies to support effective integration into routine clinical practice.

Objectives
  • Evaluate expectations, confidence levels, and overall engagement with the DR-BNI programme.
  • Identify which teaching methods (e.g. role-play, feedback, tools) supported skill development.
  • Examine difficulties encountered in learning and applying the DR-BNI approach.
  • Consider contextual constraints within dental settings that may impact delivery.
  • Reflect on changes in communication style, confidence, and behaviour change support.
  • Provide constructive feedback on training design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Exchange insights and practical solutions to support ongoing skill development.
Learning outcomes

By the end of the session delegates will be able to reflect on the impact of DR‑BNI training, including the use of behaviour change techniques, practical challenges, and improvements in communication and confidence.
