Aims

To update Dental Core Trainees in the management of dental trauma in the primary and permanent dentition.

Objectives
  •  Gain an understanding of the commissioning structure of paediatric dentistry services in England
  •  Further understanding of medical complexities which can impact provision of dental treatment
  • Discuss traumatic dental injuries and practical options for management
  •  Further understanding of dental anomalies which can occur in the paediatric patient
Learning outcomes

By the end of this session learners should be able to:

1. Understand the structure of Paediatric Dentistry services in England

2. Identify medical conditions which may impact the provision of dental treatment

3. Identify various traumatic dental injuries and understand key considerations for their management

4. Identify dental anomalies in the paediatric patient
