Ian has provided teaching and hands-on courses to dentists and their teams at numerous meetings both nationally and internationally for the past several years. He has taught groups ranging from small hands-on sessions to addressing audiences of over 500. He is a Guest Lecturer to the King’s College London MSc programmes in Aesthetic Dentistry and Fixed/Removable Prosthodontics. He frequently lectures on Dental Photography, Anterior & Posterior Composites, Smile Design, and Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Dentistry. He is an opinion leader and advisor to a number of dental companies and is the author of the Dentsply “how to guide” on simplifying posterior composite restorations. He is also Course Director of Cosmetic Dental Seminars, www.cosmeticdentalseminars.org, a 9 day programme in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry.

Dr Wendy Thompson is a clinical academic general dentist. She works clinically in South Cumbria and academically at University of Manchester. Her research is about care for people with acute dental pain and infection, including optimising antibiotic prescribing. She is the lead author of the FDI World Dental Federation’s white paper on tackling antibiotic resistance and its accompanying on-line course. Wendy recently won the Antibiotic Guardian Award 2020 for Research.
Wendy is an ambassador of the College of General Dentistry, a member of the British Dental Association’s Health & Science Committee, a member of the British National Formulary’s Dental Advisory Group and a specialist advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence on dental antibiotics.
