She is currently a Consultant in Dental Public Health working for Public Health England in Lancashire, Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire and Training Programme Director for Dental Public Health for Health Education England North West. She has chaired the UK Specialty Advisory Committee for Dental Public Health and the Advisory Board for Specialty Training in Dentistry, and also been the lead for teaching and training for the Council of the British Association for the Study of Community Dentistry. | Lecturer profile | Dr Ledingham qualified from Bristol Dental School and completed her Masters in Paediatric Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital and her PhD at Liverpool University Dental School. She has worked mainly in the Community Dental Service, with spells in hospital and academic dentistry, and is now Specialist Lead for Children’s Dentistry in the CDS in Liverpool, now part of Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Ledingham is the inaugural Chair of the Cheshire and Merseyside Paediatric Dentistry Managed Clinical Network. Clare is also the Honorary National Secretary of the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and was part of the NHS England steering group for the development of the Commissioning Standard for Paediatric Dentistry. She also a represents BSPD on the PHE Child Oral Health Improvement Programme Board. |
