Lecturer profile | Andrew qualified in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1976. He has worked as a dental practitioner for over 20 years and as a clinical teacher at Leeds Dental Hospital. He is an emeritus member of the Dental Nurse Exam Board Council. Andrew obtained a Master of Law degree at Cardiff University in July 1996. Andrew joined Dental Protection as a Dento-legal Adviser in 2001 and was appointed Senior Dento-legal Consultant in March 2011. In January 2016 Andrew began his new role as an independent training consultant.

Moved to the United States, where I worked in my husband’s motorcycle business. I became a Course Director for Behavioural Sciences at USC Dental School in Los Angeles. Returned to England in 1993 working in General Dental Practice, while maintaining my interest in Oral Surgery and Behavioural Sciences. I have worked as a Clinical Assistant in Warrington General Hospital, and taught undergraduates at Manchester Dental Hospital. I provided a Tier 2 MOS Service and taught MOS to DCT1s Actively involved in teaching Personality, Communication, Assertiveness & Resilience skills to FDs/GDPs/DCPs. Currently Chair of the Clinical Advisory Group for Bridge2Aid a dental charity working in LMICs (low and middle income countries)

Lecturer profile | Chris Whitworth worked for thirty years as a GDP in mainly NHS practices around Liverpool and was a DFT trainer. She became involved in research as a part-time undergraduate lecturer at the University of Liverpool and was awarded an MPhil in 2004, on the subject of instrument decontamination. Chris was Source Materials Adviser for the Infection Control module of FGDP(UK) / smileOn Key Skills in Primary Dental Care e-learning package in 2005 and was a member of the Department of Health Risk Assessment group for variant Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease and dentistry. She continues to provide advice on infection prevention in dentistry for FGDP(UK). She developed a dedicated infection control lead course for DCPs in 2009 and lectures to MSc groups, postgraduates, undergraduates and dental teams on infection prevention in the dental setting.
