| Lecturer profile | Chris Whitworth worked for thirty years as a GDP in mainly NHS practices around Liverpool and was a DFT trainer. She became involved in research as a part-time undergraduate lecturer at the University of Liverpool and was awarded an MPhil in 2004, on the subject of instrument decontamination.
Chris was Source Materials Adviser for the Infection Control module of FGDP(UK) / smileOn Key Skills in Primary Dental Care e-learning package in 2005 and was a member of the Department of Health Risk Assessment group for variant Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease and dentistry. She continues to provide advice on infection prevention in dentistry for FGDP(UK). She developed a dedicated infection control lead course for DCPs in 2009 and lectures to MSc groups, postgraduates, undergraduates and dental teams on infection prevention in the dental setting.
