Aengus Kelly qualified as a dentist from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) in 1994 and has worked in a variety of primary care settings since then in the UK and Ireland. He holds postgraduate qualifications in Linguistics and Creative Writing, and his PhD (TCD, 2015) research was a Discourse Analysis of Communication in Dental interactions. He has presented risk management workshops on behalf of Dental Protection (MPS) since 2016. He is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Communications and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) School of Dentistry where he has also been since 2016. In this role he lectures on Communication, Professionalism, Dental Education and Research Skills and supervises dental research up to doctoral level. Current research projects include: Online Dental Education, Resilience in Dental undergraduates, Clinical Decision-making, and ‘The Representation of Cancer Awareness Campaigns in Print Media’. |
