Aims

The aim of this course is to educate delegates in the principles of Emergency First Aid and medical emergencies. 

Objectives

Covering

· Basic life support-Adult, Child & AED

· Simple Airway management & use of oxygen

· Major/minor illnesses

· Use of emergency equipment within the practice

· Risk assessment/ Documentation

· Team leadership and Management

Learning outcomes

Candidates will demonstrate skills

To asses patients using the structured ABCDE approach

To manage medical emergencies using a structures approach in a simulated environment Within the parameters of their knowledge & training until more skilled personnel assume responsibility

Team/scene management skills

Knowledge of appropriate drug use for medical emergencies

The safe & effective use of emergency resuscitation equipment
